About the Band

Santa Fe Concert Band Mission Statement:

The Santa Fe Concert Band continues a community musical tradition dating from 1865, by participating in civic occasions and offering free public concerts for everyone, ensuring that music is integral to the life of our community.  The Santa Fe Concert Band welcomes amateur and professional volunteer musicians who together experience the joy of music through regular rehearsals and performances.

The Band has on average 50 active, volunteer musicians, with our number varying some throughout the year.

The Band organizes and performs a minimum of 10 to 12 free concerts per year, open to the public.  We have a spring or fall concert at St. Francis Auditorium in the New Mexico Museum of Art, perform four outdoor concerts at Federal Park during the summer, and have a Holiday concert at The Lensic. We also perform music at the local civic events, such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day and 4th of July.
